The pressure units are fitted with a pressure regulating valve, a manometer and a water inlet manifold. The pump bedplate is made of structural stainless steel section.

Supply manifolds for the different types of washing water are also mounted on the bedplate and they, in turn, have supply control electrovalves: two membrane electrovalves for the cold water programs and a stainless steel pneumatic electrovalve for the hot water program with soap, for each of the pressure units. An anti-freeze system is connected to this manifold. This system causes hot water to flow through the pipes, preventing the circuit from freezing when outside temperatures drop to below 0ºC.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Water softening and osmosis

Depending on the quality of the water supply there are specific technical considerations to be taken into account in the preparation and adapting of a study, however the following example describes the water treatment equipment required in the hypothetical example of a 3-washing bay installation with average quality water.
The purpose of the following technical study is to obtain high quality water using WATER SOFTENING techniques by ION EXCHANGE, based on intake water with an intake water hardness of 40ºF.

The final water quality can be adjusted to 0.5ºF (French degrees), however a salt content (Ca + 2 and Mg + 2) and HARDNESS of around 5 to 10ºF is recommended; for this purpose there is a bypass mixing valve.

The aim of the following technical study is to obtain high quality water using the REVERSE OSMOSIS technique, starting with intake water with a maximum electrical conductivity of 715 uS/cm.
This equipment is capable of producing 6,000 litres/day of osmosis water per membrane installed in model ESPA2 40/40 and 24,000 litres/day per membrane in model ESPA2 80/40, with an end quality of approx. 20 uS/cm.

The water treatment equipment designed and manufactured by Sistemas de Limpieza HAP is always mounted on a stainless steel bedplate and has a modular system that allows production to be increased. A further feature is its mixing system to obtain, at all times, the end water quality that is required.

Water softening filter

characteristics-5Operation: Twin volumetric with alternating operation.

  • Bottle capacity: 150 litres per bottle.
  • Resin load: 100 Kg/bottle.
  • Valve: 1” Fleck 9000 volumetric with mechanical regeneration system including bypass.
  • Design flow: 4 m³/hour.
  • Cleaning capacity: 15,000 litres per bottle.
  • Design hardness: 40º F.
  • No. of bottles: Two carbon fibre bottles.
  • Exchange resin: DDWHER-E (SE).
  • Salt tank: HD polyethylene. 500 litres.
  • Water softener size: 190 x 150 x 85 cm.

Example:

Average water hardness is 40 French degrees which means that there are 400 grams of calcium carbonate per m³ (1,000 litres).
Each litre of resin traps 60 grams of calcium carbonate.
This means that for every 100 litres there are 60 x 100, i.e. 6,000 grams of hardness.
6.000/400 = 15 m³, i.e., 15,000 litres per tank before each resin regeneration.
Maximum 15 x 8 regenerations/day = 120 m³ total filtering capacity of equipment per day.

This gives a maximum production of 5,000 litres per hour.

In each regeneration 180 grams of salt/litre of resin is used, i.e. 100 x 180 = 18,000 grams of salt per regeneration.
